Henry Maguire

Senior Data Scientist at Orbital Witness

Henry Maguire has a diverse work experience spanning from 2013 to the present. In 2013, they were a Physics Lab Tutor at Sussex International Summer School. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Coding Lab Demonstrator at the University of Sussex, where they wrote automation programs for analysing data and generating LaTeX-rendered progress summaries. From 2015 to 2019, they were a PhD Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Manchester, where they developed techniques for modelling the properties of quantum systems. Since 2019, they have been a Data Scientist at Orbital Witness, where they are automating document analysis using a data-centric ML approach and building transformer-based deep learning models to solve NLP tasks. Henry is also productionising models and robust data pipelines using Airflow, Kubernetes and GCP. Additionally, they are a Data Science Fellow at Faculty.

Henry Maguire obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Photon Physics from The University of Manchester in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Physics (Mphys) in Theoretical Physics, First Class (Honours) from the University of Sussex in 2015. In 2017, they obtained a Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity.
