Dirk Petersen

Dirk Petersen has extensive experience in scientific computing and research computing roles. Dirk currently serves as the Strategic Research Computing Director at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where they have secured a $2M NIH HEI grant and developed a strategic plan for OHSU Research Computing. Dirk also introduced new strategic directions for enterprise high-performance file systems and funding strategies for industry partnerships. Prior to OHSU, Dirk was the Director of Scientific Computing at Moffitt Cancer Center, where they secured $4M in federal grants and built a new team of research computing experts. Dirk also held various roles at Fred Hutch, including Director of Scientific Computing and Engineering Manager - Systems Project Management.

Dirk Petersen attended the Wirtschaftsakademie, Kiel, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration and Economics. The duration of their studies is not specified. Dirk earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in their field of study.
