Buyer/Manager for the Oregon Wildlife Foundations retail store(s), Spruce Gifts and Provisions, for nearly 30 years. During my time there I have doubled the size of the original store, added a Coffee Bar, created an E-Commerce Site, and implemented and managed a successful social media campaign. Additionally, in the last year I have overseen and managed the opening of a second location. This task included researching locations, planning and implementing site renovation, budgeting, interior design, and day to day operations.
I am proud to say that we have developed a strong repeat client in our hub store, in spite of being in an isolated area, and after only a couple months in our second location, are quickly becoming known as the go-to location for our quality gifts and apparel, as well as our always outstanding customer service.
My skill set includes strong team building, inventory management, visual merchandising, buying, and of course, customer service. At Spruce, our goal is not to make a sale, it is to make a customer. We do this by creating an environment where each person is truly seen, respected, and treated as a friend. To support this goal, we make sure that each team member is treated with that same respect and friendliness- we work hard to create a "home away from home" for both our team members and our customers.
As Spruce is owned and operated by the Oregon Wildlife Foundation, (a fantastic not-for-profit of which I am proud to work for and support) I am also familiar with the ins and outs of not for profit retail work.
