Sanjay Bahad has a diverse work experience in the engineering industry. Sanjay started their career in 2002 as an Assistant Manager at ITD Cementation India Ltd. In 2005, they joined Tata Consulting Engineer's Ltd. as a Construction Manager, where they worked until 2008.

In 2012, Sanjay joined The Louis Berger Group Inc. as a Resident Engineer, specializing in stations. Sanjay held this position until 2017. In the same year, they moved on to Oriental Consultants, where they initially served as a Resident Engineer (Civil). From 2021, they have taken on the role of Deputy Chief Resident Engineer at the same company.

Before that, they completed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from English Medium School, Pandharkawada, Dist. Yavatmal, Maharashtra, India in 1988.
