Roeland van Elsas

Roeland van Elsas has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Roeland started their career as a Physics Teacher at Stichting Studiebegeleiding Leiden from January 2007 to March 2011. In 2010, they were a Regional Sales Manager at Knaek Promotions B.V. for a brief period.

Roeland participated in the Stichting International Research Projects Delft from January 2010 to November 2010. Following this, they were a Management Assistant at YES!Delft from November 2012 to January 2013.

In 2012, Roeland had a research internship at Imperial College London from April to July. Roeland then interned as a Business Development Intern at De Groene Grachten, where they developed a back-end model for sustainable building technology tools from January to September 2013.

Roeland worked as an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group from February 2015 to January 2017. Roeland then participated in De Nationale Denktank, a national think-tank, as part of a yearly program from August 2014 to January 2015, focused on Big Data opportunities in the Netherlands.

From June 2017 to July 2021, Roeland held roles at Nextdoor, a free and private social network for neighborhoods. Roeland started as a Growth Manager, responsible for using technology to build stronger and safer communities. Later, they became a Growth Lead, overseeing the growth strategies from July 2018 to July 2021.

Currently, Roeland is the Director of Growth & Analytics at Origin, starting in January 2023.

Roeland van Elsas completed their education in the field of Applied Physics. Roeland earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Delft University of Technology, with a duration from 2006 to 2010. Following that, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from the same institution. Additionally, in 2012, Roeland van Elsas undertook a brief research position as a physicist at Imperial College London.
