Purpose

A Senior Infrastructure and Systems Engineer at Orion Health is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure and systems provided by the team to the Orion Health Group and contracted shared services to any affiliated organisations. The role works closely with the IT Infrastructure and Systems Lead and Global IT Director to support the development of a high performing IT team, ensure daily service delivery needs are met and that delivery of annual programs of work for service improvement are adhered to.

The IT Infrastructure team works closely together with the wider IT services team as well as the wider OH Corporate team to ensure activities are completed in an efficient manner and optimally aligned with priorities set by the leadership team. The relationship with internal and external stakeholders is managed pro-activity to ensure they can contribute optimally to the success of the team and Orion Health.Success in this role is reliant on living the Orion Health Values. 

Key Relationships

The Senior Infrastructure and Systems Engineer will report to the Global IT Director and work on day to day tasks and projects set by the IT Infrastructure and Systems Lead with other members of a global ITS Team. The Senior Infrastructure and Systems Engineer maintains relationships with members of the corporate and R&D Teams, including business owners of key IT supported systems. 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Influence - Is a growing expert in their field whose experience, emerging leadership and great communication skills allows them to assist and provide technical direction to the IT desktop support team on escalated issues.

Communication - Communicate regularly with stakeholders about plans, priorities and performance. Communicate regularly with the IT Services team to ensure services are aligned and mutual priorities are understood.

Project and Change Management - Significantly contribute to project implementations and drive continuous improvement of IT processes and services.

IT Support Services - Provide IT infrastructure and IT system support. Resolve IT support and project tickets. Complete routine IT maintenance activities. Identify, record and mitigate IT service risks. Take part in the 24x7 on-call rotation.
Security - Work with the Security and Assurance team to identify security risks and implement, maintain and monitor appropriate security measures.

Behavioural and Technical Capabilities

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Linux Server administration.
  • Strong networking knowledge (Analytics and Troubleshooting, Switching, Routing, Firewall, Security)
  • Hands-on experiences of automation and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet etc).
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloudformation etc).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with scripting (bash, Python, PowerShell,etc).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  •  
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting and visualisation tools (Grafana, Prometheus, EKS, CloudWatch, etc) a plus
  • Application knowledge in Atlassian and Gitlab a plus.


Experience

5+ years of technical experience working in a production system support environment. 

5+ years experience with deployment management of enterprise applications. 

Prior experience supporting on-prem data centre operations and hardware is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
