Genevieve Nantel

Genevieve Nantel has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Genevieve started their career at Groupe Béton Brunet as an intern in the IT department, where they were responsible for building a network map and collecting data for the company. Genevieve then moved on to SNC-Lavalin as an intern in the IT department, where they created and enhanced reports, analyzed data, and developed solutions using SQL queries and advanced database reporting tools.

Genevieve joined Ormuco in 2014 and held various roles within the company. Genevieve first worked as a Telecommunications Engineer Intern, where they installed, configured, and maintained networks and devices, and set up mail servers. Genevieve then became an IT Business Analyst, playing a key role in the inception of a cloud/edge project that shifted the business focus of Ormuco.

Afterwards, Genevieve transitioned to frontend development, serving as a Frontend Developer and Team Coordinator. Genevieve focused on developing new features, bug fixing, and utilizing technologies like HTML5, SASS, and AngularJS. Genevieve later became the Frontend Development Team Manager, leading a team and overseeing frontend development projects.

Genevieve then took on the role of Software Development Manager, responsible for managing a merged backend and frontend team. During this time, significant refactors took place, including database migration and federation.

In their most recent role at Ormuco, Genevieve became the Director of Research and Development. Genevieve secured funding for R&D projects and collaborated with stakeholders to define and implement product features. Genevieve also researched evolving technology trends, particularly in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and sought out new opportunities to advance the company's vision and strategy.

Genevieve Nantel began their education at Colegio Maravillas in 2009, where they attended an intensive Spanish camp in Spain, focusing on Spanish Language and Literature. In the same year, they also started studying at CEGEP - John Abbott College, where they pursued a DEC in Applied Sciences until 2011. After completing their college studies, Genevieve Nantel enrolled at McGill University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from 2011 to 2015. In 2018, they attended Harvard University and completed a program called "Essential Management Skills for Emerging Leaders." Most recently, from 2019 to 2021, Genevieve Nantel studied at McGill University again, this time earning a Certificate in Data Science and Machine Learning.
