Christine Fernandez-Maloigne

Deputy Editor In Chief JOSA A at The Optical Society (OSA)

Christine Fernandez-Maloigne has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Since 2014, they have been Co-Director of the I3M laboratory between CNRS and Siemens Healthineers. Christine also serves as Director of MIRES, a regional CNRS research federation, since January 2014.

In 2016, Fernandez-Maloigne became Deputy Editor In Chief of the Journal of the Optical Society of America A at The Optical Society (OSA). That same year, they also took on the role of Vice-Rector in charge of International Relations at the University of Poitiers.

In 2015, they became Secretary of Division 8, Image Technology of CIE, at the CIE - International Commission on Illumination. From 2013 to 2016, they served as Deputy Director of XLIM, a CNRS research laboratory. Prior to that, they were the Director of the CNRS research laboratory department at XLim-SIC from 2008 to 2013.

Fernandez-Maloigne's career began in 1996 at the University of Poitiers, where they held a position as a Professor and Colour Imaging team manager until 2007. Christine also served as the Director of the regional research federation, PRIDES, from 2005 to 2011.

Overall, Fernandez-Maloigne has a strong background in research and leadership roles in the fields of imaging, optics, and international relations.

Christine Fernandez-Maloigne pursued their education at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC). From 1982 to 1986, they obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Engineering. Building on this foundation, they continued their academic journey at UTC and from 1986 to 1989, they completed their Ph.D. in Image Processing.
