Mary Stone Ross

Mary Stone Ross has extensive experience in the fields of privacy, data security, and intelligence. Mary began their career in 2000 as an Analyst at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In 2006, they became an Intelligence Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency. From 2009 to 2013, they worked as Counsel and Professional Staff Member at the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, U.S. House of Representatives. In 2013, they founded and became the CEO of Homework Unlocked. In 2016, they became President of Californians for Consumer Privacy, where they were the Proponent and co-author of the California Consumer Privacy Act, a statewide ballot initiative that led to the unanimous passage of AB 375 by the California legislature. In 2018, they established MSR Strategies, where they served as Principal. Most recently, they began working as the Chief Privacy Officer at OSOM Products Inc. in 2021.

Mary Stone Ross began their education at Yale University, where they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Political Science/International Relations in 2001. Mary then attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where they earned their Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2005.
