Jaken Herman has held various software engineering roles since 2015. In 2015, they worked as a Web Development Student Assistant at Sam Houston State University, where they built web pages and themes using dotCMS, jQuery, HTML, and CSS. In 2017, they joined Athena Engineering Services as a Software Engineer, where they worked with VB. NET, jQuery, ASP. NET MVC, Entity Framework 6, and other various technologies for the CoilOps software. In 2018, they began working as a Software Engineer at NASA under the MSOC contract. In 2019, they joined the Houston Astros as a Frontend Developer in the Research & Development department. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Othram Inc as a Software Developer.

Jaken Herman is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Extension Studies and Software Engineering at Harvard Extension School, which they began in 2021. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering from Sam Houston State University in 2017. From 2012 to 2013, they attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, but did not receive a degree. Jaken has also obtained certifications in Flask Essential Training from LinkedIn in May 2021 and Agile Foundations from LinkedIn in June 2020.
