Chang Chen is currently the Head of Growth & Marketing at Otter.ai. Prior to this, Chang worked at First Round Fast Track as the Head of Growth & Marketing. At Otter.ai, Chang led the team for both B2C and B2B growth & marketing and was responsible for scaling the ARR from tens of thousands to $XX million.
Under Chang's leadership, Otter.ai saw significant user growth. Chang launched and scaled the paid acquisition channels of social, search, and programmatic across web and mobile. Chang also launched and optimized the ASO, SEO, and content marketing program which grew the new users from organic by 10X in 4 months. Additionally, Chang grew social media accounts across FB, Twitter, and LinkedIn by 6X in 12 months - all organically.
Not only did Chang focus on user growth, but they also led product-led growth initiatives. Chang implemented an experimentation framework and stack, and led experimentations for onboarding, pricing, conversion, and churn flow - resulting in an improved conversation rate by 300% and signup rate by 150%. Chang also built the life cycle marketing function from the scratch and scaled the engagement program to 50M+ emails a month. Chang educated and activated free signups via emails, push notification, and in-app tutorials - resulting in an improved activation rate by 34% and 2nd-day retention by 22%. Lastly, Chang lead-nurtured potential customers with best practices and educational information about Otter for Teams.
In terms of content marketing, Chang established thought leadership in productivity and collaboration verticals. As a result, Otter.ai's weekly traffic and number of users from Google and Bing search grew by 10X in 6 months.
Lastly, Chang was responsible for building the analytics infrastructure and reporting (both internal and external). Chang supported marketing, growth, and product's analytics needs - ensuring that everyone had access to the data they needed to make informed decisions.
Chang Chen holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Their manager is Sam Liang, CEO & Co-Founder. They work with Yun Fu - CTO & Co-Founder, Zaw Lin Hteik - Head of Growth Acquisition and Demand Generation, and Simon Lau - SVP, Product.
