Jyrki Savela

Jyrki Savela is a lecturer at Oulu University of Applied Sciences since December 2022, bringing a wealth of experience from various academic and industrial roles. Previously, Jyrki served as a PhD student at the University of Oulu, focusing on an IoT-based water level control system for fields and peatlands. Prior to that, Jyrki was the product manager and CEO, co-founder at TimeGate Instruments Ltd., and worked as a mechanical designer at PJT-Engineering. Jyrki's research background includes a role as a research scientist at VTT, where responsibilities included optomechanical and mechanics design, project management, and automation, along with a visiting researcher position at CERN, contributing to the ATLAS project. Jyrki started professional academic pursuits as a researcher at the University of Oulu. Jyrki holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oulu, attained between 2002 and 2006.
