Kurt Mitts has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to software integration, systems engineering, functional safety, control systems engineering, and powertrain controls engineering. Kurt currently holds the position of Senior Principal Software Integration Engineer at Our Next Energy (ONE) since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Rivian as a Sr Systems Engineer from February 2019 to April 2021. From July 2018 to February 2019, Kurt was the Functional Safety Lead at Faraday Future, and from February 2016 to July 2018, they served as a Sr. Control Systems Engineer at the same company. Kurt Mitts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Signal Processing from Michigan Technological University, which they obtained from 1995 to 2000. Kurt also earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Systems with a specialization in Signal Processing from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 2001 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Kurt has obtained various certifications, including Battery State-of-Charge (SOC) Estimation, Introduction to Self-Driving Cars, Equivalent Circuit Cell Model Simulation, Introduction to battery-management systems, and Automotive Functional Safety Professional.
