Adam Carr

Adam Carr has a strong work history that spans many years and includes various roles in engineering and software development. Adam currently holds the position of Senior Director of Engineering at Outreach since November 2022. Before that, they worked as the Director of Engineering at Outreach from February 2021 to November 2022. Prior to their time at Outreach, Adam held the position of Principal Software Engineer at Outreach from May 2020 to February 2021.

Before joining Outreach, Adam worked as an Engineering Manager at Facebook from January 2019 to May 2020. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Netflix from September 2017 to January 2019. In this role, they were part of the browser player team and worked on enabling playback through browsers, Chromecast, and the Windows app. Adam also supported software related to license retrieval, buffer management, content playback controls, and streaming quality optimization.

Adam's prior experience includes working at Microsoft as a Principal Software Engineer from June 2015 to September 2017. In this role, they split their time between the experimentation team and working on Microsoft Teams, focusing on files integrations and client architecture. Adam also worked extensively with technologies such as TypeScript, WebPack, AngularJS, Angular, React, Gulp, and RequireJS.

Before joining Microsoft, Adam worked at Interactive Intelligence as a Lead Software Engineer from January 2015 to June 2015, where they focused on supportability and site reliability using tools like status page.io and New Relic. Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft again, this time as a Senior Development Lead from March 2013 to January 2015, and as a Software Development Lead II and Software Development Engineer II from November 2012 to March 2013 and September 2012 to November 2012, respectively.

Adam's earlier experience includes working at Interactive Intelligence as a Team Lead and Lead Software Engineer from January 2012 to September 2012. In this role, they headed a team of developers and wrote software to support the company's CaaS department and their customers. Adam also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Interactive Intelligence from October 2010 to January 2012, and as a Software Engineer from October 2009 to October 2010.

Adam began their career at Purdue University, where they held various roles such as Manager of Software Development from December 2006 to October 2009, Senior Analyst/Programmer from April 2006 to December 2006, and Web Database and Site Developer from January 2003 to April 2006. In these positions, they managed software development teams, made technological decisions, and developed dynamic, database-driven websites for Housing and Food Services.

Adam Carr attended Purdue University from 1999 to 2004 and obtained a B.S.E. degree in Engineering Management.
