Dongwoo Kim

Dongwoo Kim has a rich and diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dongwoo is currently serving as the Applied Science and Engineering Director at Outreach since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft for several years, starting in 2013. Their roles at Microsoft include Principal Data Scientist Manager, where they managed a team of data scientists and ML engineers and helped migrate ML workloads. Dongwoo also served as a Principal Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist, contributing to experimentation and supporting various organizations in onboarding to the experimentation platform. Additionally, they worked as an Applied Researcher/Scientist and supported online controlled hypothesis testing in Bing. Before joining Microsoft, Dongwoo Kim pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, conducting research in data mining and dynamic programming problems. Dongwoo also gained experience as an intern at American Express and served as a Public Officer at the Seoul Immigration Office, where they worked on data organization, addressed concerns from foreigners, and developed communication and leadership skills.

Dongwoo Kim earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University from 2005 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science degree in Financial Mathematics at Stanford University from 2005 to 2010. Dongwoo obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology between 1999 and 2002. Their secondary education was at Seoul Science High School from 1996 to 1998. Dongwoo Kim also holds a certification in "Hands-On Introduction: Go" obtained from LinkedIn in January 2023.
