Aerostructures Engineer at Overair

Aishwarya Gunasekar has over four years of experience in the aerospace engineering field. From 2022 to present, they have been working as an Aerostructures Engineer for both Overair and Airspace Experience Technologies (ASX). In 2021, they were a Student Researcher at the University of Michigan. From 2019 to 2021, Aishwarya was an Undergraduate Student Researcher - Flight Laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. During this time, they conducted in-flight experiments on Piper Saratoga II HP & Cessna 206H and calibrated control surfaces. From 2019 to 2020, they were an Engineering Intern at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, where they trained in overhaul operations of control surfaces and learned the design and manufacturing processes of fighter jet canopies and main deck cargo doors for Boeing 737. Lastly, from 2018 to 2019, they were an Engineering Trainee at Aerospace Engineers Private Limited, where they trained in GD&T and reviewed design revisions of several structural and propulsion system components. Additionally, they manufactured aircraft, rotorcraft & missile components using compression moulding, machining & autoclave processes.

Aishwarya Gunasekar obtained a BE - Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology in 2016-2020. In 2020-2022, they earned a Master of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering. In addition, Aishwarya has obtained certifications in FARO CAM2 & Laser Tracker Course from FARO Technologies in January 2023, Learning MATLAB from LinkedIn in August 2020, NX Design from Siemens in June 2020, and Design Thinking from NPTEL in March 2019.
