Patrick Sarmiere

Patrick Sarmiere has over 19 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. In their most recent role as Vice President of Preclinical Research at Ovid Therapeutics, they have been responsible for leading preclinical research efforts. Prior to that, Patrick founded and served as the Principal of Sleeping Giant Biopharma Consulting, providing consulting services in neurological and rare-disease preclinical development. Patrick also worked at Acorda Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist in Cellular Neuroscience for eight years. Before that, Patrick worked as a Neuroscientist at the Spinal Cord Society and as a Post-Doc at Colorado State University. Patrick was also a Grant Recipient at the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Patrick Sarmiere has an extensive education history. Patrick first attended Pope John XIII from 1988 to 1992, although no degree or field of study is specified. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry from Ithaca College, which they completed from 1992 to 1996. Lastly, Sarmiere pursued a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where they studied from 1996 to 2001.
