Allan Evans

Allan Evans is an accomplished researcher and educator with extensive experience in algorithm development, optical technologies, and financial analysis. Currently serving as a Principal Researcher at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since April 2023, Allan previously held various roles, including Senior Algorithm Researcher and Consultant for projects in image processing and 3D reconstruction. With a significant tenure as Senior Vice-President of Research at Winton Group, Allan developed algorithmic investment strategies and conducted statistical analyses using Python and SQL. Allan's career also includes a strong academic background, having served as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Centre for Modern Optics at De Montfort University, and experience in delivering training courses as an instructor at Learning Tree International. Allan earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, building a solid foundation that supports a diverse and impactful career trajectory.
