Jakob Ørtvig

Associate Sales Director Nordics at Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Jakob Ørtvig has significant work experience in the life science industry. Jakob started their career at AH diagnostics as a Product Specialist, where they were responsible for molecular biology portfolio sales and technical support in western Denmark. Jakob then moved on to become a Nordic Application Specialist at AH diagnostics, where they had Nordic responsibilities and product management of the molecular biology portfolio.

Following their time at AH diagnostics, Jakob worked at Roche as an Account Manager, focusing on maintaining and building sales in Western Denmark for Roche Molecular Diagnostics. Jakob'smajor focus was on automated nucleic acid purification, Real-Time PCR analysis, and NGS applications.

After their role at Roche, Jakob joined Agilent Technologies as a GSD Sales Channel Manager for Nordics and later became the Genomics Business Team Manager.

Currently, Jakob is working at Oxford Nanopore Technologies. Jakob initially held the role of Strategic Relationship Manager for the Nordics and then progressed to become a Senior Strategic Account Manager. After that, they served as a Field Sales Manager for the Nordics and Central regions. Jakob is currently the Associate Sales Director for the Nordics.

Jakob Ørtvig began their education in 1995 at Glamsdalens Idrætsefterskole. Jakob then attended Faaborg Gymnasium from 1996 to 1999, where they pursued a degree in the Matematisk linje program. Continuing their academic journey, Jakob Ørtvig enrolled at Aarhus University from 2001 to 2007. There, they obtained a Master of Science in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biology & Immunology.
