Sandra Ionescu has a diverse work experience, starting in 2011 as an Intern at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), where they organized and archived various resources. Sandra then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Florida, studying the dynamics and conformational changes in the unfolded, folded, and substrate-bound state of the V. cholerae glycine riboswitch. Sandra also conducted research on the effects of environmental stressors during soybean development and worked with Arabidopsis knockout mutants to understand gene function. Sandra further enhanced their research skills by becoming a Chemistry Masters Student Supervisor at the University of Oxford. Sandra recently joined Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd as a Research Scientist, where they continue to contribute their expertise.

Sandra Ionescu's education history shows a strong academic background. Sandra completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Biology from the University of Oxford, graduating between the years 2016 and 2020. Prior to their Ph.D., they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Pharmacology at the same university, from 2014 to 2015.

Sandra also holds a Double Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry and Botany from the University of Florida, with a minor in Business Administration. Sandra obtained this degree from 2010 to 2014. Furthermore, they completed their Associate of Arts (AA) degree at St. Petersburg Collegiate High School from 2007 to 2010, although the field of study for this degree is not provided.
