Saoirse Foley

Saoirse Foley has a diverse work experience. Saoirse started their career as a Laboratory Intern at University College Dublin, where they gained skills in molecular techniques and DNA analysis. Saoirse then worked as a Deli Assistant at Murphy's Centra Rosslare, where they further developed their communication and multitasking skills. Saoirse later joined The Little Saltee Takeaway and Restaurant as a Sales Assistant, taking on responsibilities in dessert making, phone orders, and packing orders. Saoirse then moved on to Tissue For Research - Accio BiobankOnline, where they worked as a Research Services Assistant and later as a Research Officer. Currently, Saoirse is employed as a Research Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Saoirse Foley completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Cell Biology from Dublin City University, from the year 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they attended Bridgetown Vocational College from 2013 to 2018, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate. In addition to their formal education, Saoirse has also earned certifications in Bacterial Genomes: Disease Outbreaks and Antimicrobial Resistance from Wellcome Connecting Science Courses and Conferences in June 2022, and in Biobank2x: Biospecimen Research Methods from edX in April 2021. Saoirse also attended the Center for Talented Youth Ireland from 2013 to 2016, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.
