Software Engineer at Oxide Computer Company

Greg Colombo has more than a decade of experience in software engineering. Greg began their career as a Software Engineer at Microsoft in 2008, where they worked in the Windows kernel team. During their time there, they improved the Windows heap manager, the registry, and kernel synchronization primitives. Greg also developed the initial version of the Windows service responsible for managing background tasks for UWP applications.

In 2013, Colombo was promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer in the Memory, Caching, and State Management team. Greg worked on improving the performance of Windows by developing caching and memory management techniques.

In 2015, they were promoted to the role of Principal Software Engineer in the Core Execution Management team. Here, they developed services and drivers that managed the lifetimes and resource usage of Windows applications, including both UWP apps and classic Win32 programs.

In 2018, Colombo took on a new challenge as the Senior Software Engineer at Google. Here, they continued to develop software for improving system performance.

In 2020, they were again promoted, this time to the role of Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they led a team of engineers to develop new software for Google.

Starting in 2022, Colombo will be joining Oxide Computer Company as a Software Engineer.

From 2004 to 2008, Greg Colombo attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Computer Engineering. There is no record of any additional certifications.
