Nadya Kandel

Nadya Kandel is a Laboratory Technician at Oxitec Ltd since October 2022, specializing in raising laboratory mosquitoes and identifying local mosquito species. Prior experience includes a Laboratory Technician role at North Carolina State University, focusing on tephritidae and parasitoids, and conducting mark-release-recapture experiments. Nadya has also worked as an Entomologist with the US Geological Survey, identifying mites and supporting fieldwork related to ecological studies. Additional roles span pharmacy and retail positions, as well as educational activities involving COVID-19 screening and online class development in mythology and entomology for younger students. Nadya holds a Bachelor of Science in Entomology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University.
