Mary Martin

Mary Martin has a diverse work experience in the field of learning and development. Mary has held various roles in different companies, including Pacific Blue Cross, Langara College, M-squared Learning, BC Liquor Distribution Branch, Luxottica Group, LensCrafters, and Luxottica Retail.

At Pacific Blue Cross, Mary has worked as the Director of Learning and Engagement since March 2021. Prior to that, they were the Senior Manager of Learning and Engagement from February 2019 to February 2021. Mary also served as the Manager of Learning and Development from August 2016 to March 2019, where they collaborated with key stakeholders to design and implement learning initiatives.

Mary has also worked as a Course Instructor and Instructional Designer at Langara College from February 2023, where they designed and developed a course on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace. Mary has also held multiple positions at Luxottica Group, including Senior Manager of Learning and Development, Regional General Manager, Strategic Learning Partner, and Senior Manager of Field Development-Canada/US.

Prior to Luxottica Group, Mary worked as a Regional Director of Operations at LensCrafters, where they led teams of store managers and oversaw the recruitment, training, and development of staff. Mary also served as an Associate Group Operations Manager at Luxottica Retail, where they organized and deployed training programs for LensCrafters employees.

Mary Martin (she/her) has a diverse education history that spans several years. Mary'seducational background includes a Certificate in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion from The University of British Columbia, which they obtained from 2022 to 2024. Mary also earned an UBC Award of Achievement in D&I from the same institution, completing it in 2023. Mary pursued further education at the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, where they obtained the Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional certification in 2021. Mary also engaged in a program at the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion focused on IDEA in 2022. Mary'spast educational achievements include a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from Royal Roads University, acquired from 2015 to 2016, and a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management, earned from 2011 to 2012 at the same institution. Lastly, they hold an Optican Degree from DOABC, completed from 1979 to 1988. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Mary has obtained the IDI Qualified Administrator certification from IDI, LLC, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
