Sarah Nielsen Barrows is a Research Economist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since September 2019, focusing on energy and environmental projects, including the valuation of distributed wind and the evaluation of grid resilience. Previously, Sarah worked as a Master’s student in Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the University of Idaho, where research concentrated on the impact of public policy on low-income households' access to food stamps. Additional experience includes a seasonal internship at Emsi, where economic impact studies were conducted, and roles with Kerry Ingredients and General Mills in research and development. Sarah holds a Master of Science in Applied and Agricultural Economics from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Brigham Young University.
