Jamie Greenway has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in software development and engineering. Starting in 2007, Jamie worked as a Web Developer for Primrose Bathrooms, where they created an e-commerce outlet and delivered a fully functioning application. Jamie then joined Press Association as an IT Technical Support Specialist, providing support and advice to employees across multiple sites. In 2009, Jamie worked as a Web Developer and Junior Developer for C SPENCER LIMITED, contributing to the development of an enterprise system.
From 2012 to 2015, Jamie worked as a Software Engineer at Autoweb.co.uk, where they collaborated with an agile team to develop software solutions and implement a new MySQL database. Jamie then joined AMT Contract Hire & Leasing Ltd as a Web Developer, responsible for the development and maintenance of automotive websites and back-office systems. Jamie later took on the role of Senior Web Developer, focusing on refactoring legacy systems and creating bespoke management systems.
Jamie's next position was at Origin Broadband, where they served as a Senior PHP Developer, designing and implementing software solutions for complex business requirements. Notably, Jamie worked on a complete debt recovery application. In 2018, Jamie joined Go Green Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer and later assumed the role of Lead Software Solutions Architect. In this role, they led the design and implementation of in-house software solutions, including a new enterprise system.
Jamie's most recent experience is at Packt, where they currently hold the position of Head of Engineering since December 2022. Prior to this, Jamie served as the Packt+ Squad Team Lead, overseeing a large web development and testing squad and implementing agile methodologies and positive cultural and technological changes.
Throughout their career, Jamie has demonstrated a wide range of technical skills, including PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AWS, CSS, and HTML. Jamie has also gained experience in project management, mentoring, and talent growth and acquisition.
Jamie Greenway attended Leeds Beckett University from 2004 to 2007. During this time, they pursued a degree in Business Information Technology and successfully graduated with a 2.1 classification.
