Edward Tiong

Edward Tiong has a diverse work experience spanning several roles in different companies. Edward is currently the Co-Founder of Pandan since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at AKASA from April 2022 to May 2023. Edward also has experience as a Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft AI, where they developed personalized Smart Reply for Outlook users and improved Azure resource optimization using unsupervised learning and Databricks. Edward has also worked as a Data Scientist at Beam Solutions, where they detected fraudulent crypto transactions and performed EDA on a Neo4j graph database. Edward has also worked as an AI Engineer and Data Scientist at AI Singapore, a Design Engineer at SUTD-MIT International Design Centre, and a Co-Founder and Product Engineer at Ring Theory, where they invented and sold a patent-pending technology to improve NFC performance. Additionally, they have experience as a Product Manager at DBS Bank and has been a guest speaker at The Institution of Engineers, Singapore. Edward's work experience reflects their expertise in machine learning, data science, product development, and entrepreneurship.

Edward Tiong has a diverse education history. Edward holds a Master of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (FinTech) from the University of California, Berkeley. Edward has also studied Executive Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Edward earned their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering System and Design from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Edward has participated in the Global Leadership Programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on the MIT International Design Center. Additionally, Edward has attended the Youth Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellows Institute at the University of Connecticut. Edward has also studied Industrial and Product Design at Zhejiang University.
