Rodrigo Pontes has over 16 years of work experience in various roles. In 2004, they began as a Volunteer for Institutional Development at Fundação Gol de Letra. In 2005, they moved to Amigos do Bem as an Analyst of Project Management. In 2007, they were an International Trainee for Fundraising at Ceprodih. In 2008, they became the Director of the Philanthropy Advisory Services at Instituto Azzi. In 2015, they were a Growth Leader - Host side at Worldpackers. In 2017, they worked as a Junior Front-end Developer - Growth Squad at Creditas. In 2019, they were a Junior Front-end Developer at tonebase, inc. In 2020, they were a Software Engineer at Surf Air, where they created complex MongoDB pipeline aggregations and implemented the company's new, in-house referral program. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at Pando and a Voluntary Instructor at Mais1Code in partnership with Instituto Nu.

Rodrigo Pontes has a diverse educational background. In 2012, they completed a Strategic Frameworks for Nonprofit Organizations program at Harvard Kennedy School in the field of NGO management. Rodrigo also attended USP - Universidade de São Paulo for Economics, and in 2011 they completed an Expanding Impact: Non-Governmental Organization Legitimacy, Advocacy and Partnerships program at Harvard Kennedy School in the field of NGO management. In 2016-2017, they obtained a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in the field of Computer Software Engineering.
