Gary Kerr's work experience begins in 2005 as an Advisor for Multinational Security Transition Command Iraq. Gary then worked as a Plans and Operations Manager for Battle Command Training Program from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they became a student at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. From 2009 to 2011, Gary served as Chief of Staff/Executive Director and Chief of Operations for 4th Brigade, 73rd Cavalry, 82nd Airborne Division. In 2011, they became the Division Future Operations Planner for the 1st Infantry Division, US Army. Starting in 2021, Gary joined Park University as the Senior Director of Military and Veterans Affairs, and later became the Associate Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Military/Veterans Affairs in 2022.

Gary Kerr holds a Master's Degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University, which they completed between 2013 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History from The Ohio State University. In 2008 and 2009, they attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
