Senior Success Engineer at Parsely

Alexander Lourenco is currently a Senior Success Engineer at Parsely. Prior to that, they were a Senior Systems Administrator at Learn2Earn.com from January 2010 to January 2011. There, they were responsible for installing, configuring, and creating Learn2Earn.com network from the ground up. This included integrating Windows Active Directory with Linux and Mac machines using SAMBA and OpenLDAP to create a seamless, single-sign-on network. Alexander was also responsible for maintaining Linux and Windows servers in a live production environment as well as network maintenance and security, including monthly security assessments of server and network integrity.

In addition, Alexander installed and configured a high-availability, scalable virtual server implementation using LVS, keepalived, and Linux virtual server routing built on top of Red Hat Enterprise Linux nodes. Alexander also assisted in writing and maintaining PHP and MySQL-driven website, including but not limited to troubleshooting of PHP errors and optimization of SQL queries. Alexander's responsibilities also included site uptime as well as being the only point of contact for emergencies and other related issues.

Finally, Alexander implemented SPLUNK, a system that indexes and parses logs, config files, messages, etc. in real time to assist him in keeping as up-to-date as possible network security.

Alexander Lourenco studied English Language and Literature at Colgate University and Trinity College Dublin, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Philosophy respectively.
