René Hug

René Hug began their work experience in 1980 at Sulzer, where they received vocational education until 1984. René then moved on to WYLER AG Switzerland, where they worked in engineering from 1984 to 1989. Following this, they joined KELLER AG für Druckmesstechnik as an engineer from 1989 to 1994. René then joined Zurich Insurance Company Ltd in 1994, where they worked as a software developer, project manager, and team leader until 2005. René later joined PartnerRe in 2005 as a senior project manager until 2016, when they became the team lead for IT project management. In April 2019, René took on the role of Head of IT Life & Health Applications at PartnerRe.

René Hug obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Information Technology from ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. René later pursued a degree in Projektmanagement, specializing in Wirtschaftsingenieur FH, from Kalaidos Fachhochschule Schweiz, which they completed during the period from 2002 to 2004.
