Associate Manager at Partnership for Public Service

Abigail Alpern Fisch is currently a Communications Associate at Partnership for Public Service. Prior to this, they were a New Media Fellow, Podcast Producer & Host at Coalition on Human Needs from March 2021 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for project managing the creation of the organization's new podcast, Voices for Human Needs, to educate both new and experienced activists on federal policies and campaigns to address social and economic hardships of low-income populations. Abigail was also responsible for developing and managing production plans and timelines for each step of the project, as well as publishing high-quality episodes monthly. The podcast received an estimated 750+ plays across distribution platforms of six published episodes with successful reach to the show’s target audiences of young listeners, 75% of which were ages 18-34. Abigail also pitched episode topics, identified speakers from partner organizations, researched policy issues, developed questions for speakers, conducted interviews, wrote narrations, hosted, and produced audio using Descript, Audacity, and Adobe Premiere Pro. In addition to producing the podcast, they also wrote complementing blog post summaries for each episode featuring background about the episode topic, the current state of policy and upcoming legislation regarding the issue, and action items for listeners/readers to get involved in advocacy campaigns. As a New Media Fellow at Coalition on Human Needs, Abigail produced multimedia content (via podcast, blog posts, videos, social media posts) that simplified complex Capitol Hill, anti-poverty policy issues into digestible content for the public - with a subtle emphasis on reaching young and new activists. Lastly, they developed and created social media content to engage audiences and coalition members on CHN’s social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

Abigail Alpern Fisch has a BA in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University. Abigail also has a minor in Sociology with a concentration in Political Science. Abigail is currently a Junior Spring at College Year in Athens. Abigail attended Georgetown Day School for their high school career.
