Baron Young, P.Eng., PMP has a solid and diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Baron currently works as an HVDC Project Director at Pattern Energy Group. Prior to this, they held roles at Nova Scotia Power, where they worked as a Director of Regional Operations, Regional Manager of Transmission & Distribution, Manager of Large Capital Projects HVac Substation, Transmission & Hydro, and Senior Project Manager of HVac Substations, Transmission & Hydro. Before joining Nova Scotia Power, Baron worked at Emera as a Senior Project Engineer specializing in HVac, HVdc, & Telecommunications. Baron began their career at Nova Scotia Power as a Distribution Operations Engineer in Training, and then progressed to roles as Project Lead HVac Substations & Transmission and Commissioning Lead HVac Substations. Prior to their engineering career, Baron served as an Able Marine Mechanic - Electrical Technician in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

Baron Young, P.Eng., PMP attended Dalhousie University from 2004 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Baron has also obtained various certifications. In November 2020, they earned the Cert Prep: Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from LinkedIn. Furthermore, in May 2021, they completed the Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making and Inclusive Mindset courses, also offered by LinkedIn. Lastly, in February 2017, they completed the Note-Taking for Business Professionals course, also provided by LinkedIn.
