Steven van Polen

Steven van Polen is a seasoned professional in energy transition and environmental economics, currently serving as a Research Coordinator for energy transition in the built environment at PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving since June 2023. Previous roles include Senior Consultant in Energy & Sustainability at Berenschot and Energy Economist at PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving, where significant contributions were made to the National Energy Outlook (NEO) and the development of the Vesta model. Steven van Polen has also operated as an Environmental Economist through a one-man consultancy, focusing on complex energy and climate issues. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Environmental Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Policy, both from Wageningen University & Research.
