Peach Payments is a fast growing Pan-African PSP that makes online commerce and digital payment acceptance easier and more accessible across all Africa. We work with small and large sellers to provide a complete toolkit to accept, manage and disburse payments through web and mobile.

Our merchant partners include your favourite food delivery services, whether you’re ordering in or using a meal kit, travel services that can help you book your next getaway adventure and even your neighbour’s side-hustle e-commerce store.

For these partners and their customers, we aim to provide delightful experiences that make it as easy as possible to facilitate online payments.

Why we're hiring for this role
We’re looking for an experienced sales person to join our sales team for South Africa. As a Sales Associate you will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives for our Small & Medium Enterprise segment. You must be comfortable sending lots of emails and taking dozens of phones calls a day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and closing SME sales. The role requires someone who thrives at understanding the technical needs of our merchants and building strategies and tactics to drive growth, adoption, and advocacy for Peach Payments.

Your mission if you choose to accept it

  • Support the SME team in their sales activities including lead qualification, quoting, lead development and closing

  • Manage team KPI reporting and business analyst activities to optimise sales efficiency

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails

  • Own a book of business and meet sales targets

  • Define and execute new sales strategies to effectively showcase Peach Payments

  • Lead and contribute to team projects to develop and refine our sales process

  • Support sales team members with training and skill development

  • Engage with Product, Marketing and Operations teams to support customer research and support

What we'd like you to have

  • 1-2 years experience in customer/client-facing role, with a track record of top performance

  • Ability to understand the Peach Payments API and build great relationships with customers with various levels of technical experience.

  • Ability to understand the various offerings and requirements of Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Magento and other e-commerce platforms and cart integrations.

  • Familiarity using Sales CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot).  Direct experience with HubSpot a bonus!

  • Comfort working with data in Excel to track KPIs and ROI.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with aggressive sales targets.

  • Demonstrated passion for new technology businesses.

  • Experience and comfort working with highly technical online products or services

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
