About the Job:

Peak Energy is seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to join our team. As the first hire into our IT function, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing all aspects of our IT infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to build our IT operations from the ground up, support our engineering cloud infrastructure, and set up networks in new offices.  

Responsibilities: 

  • IT Infrastructure Setup and Management:  
    • Design, implement, and manage the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
    • Establish employee software/tooling for project management, engineering documentation, etc. (Confluence, JIRA, CAD systems, PLM, etc.).
    • Establish IT policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and data security.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Support:
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to support and optimize cloud infrastructure.
    • Manage cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure their seamless integration with our systems.
  • Network Setup and Maintenance:
    • Plan and execute the setup of network infrastructure in new office locations.
    • Ensure robust and secure network operations across all company sites.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide comprehensive IT support to all employees, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
    • Implement and manage helpdesk systems for efficient support services.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
    • Ensure cost-effective procurement and maintenance of IT assets.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead IT projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate IT solutions across the organization.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce IT security policies to protect company data and systems.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management or a similar role. 
  • Proven experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP). 
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, setup, and management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and manage IT infrastructure from scratch. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. 
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance.
