Roberto Maya-Martinez

Senior Protein Scientist & NMR Specialist at Peak Proteins

Roberto Maya Martinez is a Senior Scientist at Peak Proteins since January 2023, specializing in studying protein aggregation mechanisms through various biophysical techniques including CD, SAXS, TEM, Fluorescence, and NMR. Prior to this role, Roberto served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Leeds from January 2018 to May 2023, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute de Biologie Structurale from June 2015 to January 2018, where the research focused on the physicochemical properties of proteins related to HIV infection and antibiotic resistance using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance as the main approach alongside complementary techniques. Roberto obtained a Doctorate in Science in Structural Biochemistry of Proteins from Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (2012-2015), a Master's of Science in Molecular Biomedicine and Structural Biochemistry from Instituto Politécnico Nacional (2009-2011), and a Bachelor's of Science in Experimental Biology from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (2001-2006).
