William Rawlings has worked in a variety of roles in the past few years. In 2019, they were a Product Engineering Intern for Conservation X Labs and a DukeEngage Fellow for DukeEngage - A Program of Duke University. In 2020, they worked as an Engineering Technologies Intern for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. In 2021, they were a Product Engineering Intern for Esri and an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Shindell Research Group, Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. Currently, they are a Data Analyst for PearlX and a Trip Leader for Backroads.

William Rawlings obtained their High School Diploma from R J Reynolds High School in 2018. William then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering-BSE from Duke University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Earth/Climate Sciences, which they completed in 2022. In 2019, they obtained a Coursera Course Certificate for Introduction to Machine Learning from Duke University. In 2022, they obtained a CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross, and they are also an Open Water Diver certified by PADI.
