Andrea Willis has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Andrea began their career in 2004 as an HR Adviser at Norkom Technologies, where they implemented core HR functions and elevated the HR role within the company. Andrea then served as a Talent Adviser at Yahoo, coordinating talent initiatives and designing induction and employee engagement programs.

In 2006, Andrea joined the Australian Trade Commission as a Senior HR Adviser, where they successfully redesigned performance and talent management programs and developed a talent management and succession planning approach. Andrea also co-designed a career and performance management workshop.

Andrea then worked at the Department of Communications and the Arts as an Assistant Director Talent, leading strategic HR projects and managing the Department's Talent Program and People Strategy.

From 2014 to 2019, they co-owned and managed two restaurants, Aubergine Restaurant and Temporada, focusing on business operations and management.

In 2016, Andrea joined the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as a Behavioural Insights Advisor, responsible for applying behavioral economics to improve public policy. Andrea later became a Senior Advisor in the Projects team, overseeing behaviorally-informed interventions. Andrea currently holds the position of Managing Director, BETA (acting) since August 2023.

Andrea Willis attended the University of Canberra from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & Management. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in the Team Management Profile from Team Management Systems - TMSOz.com, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from a Myers-Briggs Instructor.
