Aybars Inceoglu

Lead Petroleum Engineer at Perenco S.A.

Aybars Inceoglu has extensive experience in the petroleum engineering field. Aybars started their career as a Petroleum Engineer Intern at TPIC - Turkish Petroleum International Company in 2007. Aybars then worked as a Petroleum Engineer Intern at Gulf Drilling International for a brief period in 2007.

In 2009, Aybars joined Perenco as a Production Operations Engineer, where they supervised daily operations and preventive maintenance in tank farms, monitored well performance, and troubleshooted ESPs and PCPs. Aybars also monitored water injection performance and troubleshooted W/I well and network.

From 2011 to 2014, Aybars served as a Production Engineer in the Geosciences Department at Perenco, where they focused on production optimization and was a team leader for a workover campaign of 40 wells. Aybars also utilized production technology and reservoir engineering skills.

Following that, Aybars held the position of Senior Production Technologist / Stimulation Engineer at Perenco from 2014 to 2018. In this role, they served as a Functional Manager for the implementation of base and key technologies in well technology and production enhancement projects. Aybars was responsible for cost containment, well diagnostics, well performance monitoring, coordination of completion and testing of exploration wells, and execution of quality control inspections. Aybars was also involved in various projects, including a successful water shutoff polymer gel treatment project.

In 2016, Aybars briefly worked as a Senior Production Technologist at Perenco Guatemala.

In 2019, Aybars had a temporary role as the Well Services and Performance Manager at Perenco Cameroon, where they were responsible for slickline, integrity, stimulation, and well performance sections of the subsidiary.

Most recently, Aybars has been working at Perenco as a Senior Petroleum Engineer since 2018. Aybars has supported various subsidiaries, including Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, RDC, Tunisia, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UK (Wytch Farm). Their responsibilities have included field performance reviews, sandstone stimulation optimization, fines/sand control, scale deposits treatment optimization, oil behind pipe opportunities in new assets, and water shut-off applications/internalisation.

Aybars INCEOGLU obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Petroleum Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) between 2003 and 2008. Aybars then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Engineering Management/Industrial Engineering from the same university from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Aybars also obtained certifications in Football Coaching from FA England in November 2019, and Surface Level 3 from The International Well Control Forum in January 2015.
