Cynthia O'Brien

Arts Instructor at Perley Health

Cynthia O'Brien is an experienced arts instructor and working artist with a focus on ceramics and clay manipulation. Currently employed at Perley Health since November 2005, Cynthia works primarily with older adults, including those living with Dementia and Alzheimer's, to foster artistic expression and memory connection through their creations. Concurrently, Cynthia has been a Clay Instructor and Studio Technician with the City of Ottawa since 2003, facilitating a dynamic and engaging studio environment. Additionally, Cynthia has experience as a Studio Technician at McNabb Community Centre and previously taught ceramic fundamentals at the Ottawa School of Art from 2000 to 2006. Cynthia holds a BFA in Fine Art – Ceramics from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and has furthered studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in Fine Arts – Ceramics.
