Tim Pelquest-Hunt has extensive work experience in the wine industry. Tim started their career as a Tenor Lay Clerk at Christ Church Cathedral in New Zealand in 2009. Tim then worked as a Research Assistant at Lincoln University before moving into the wine industry. Tim worked as a Vintage Cellarhand at various wineries, including Tower Estate, Nyetimber, and Bay Of Fires Winery. Tim also worked as a Cellar Supervisor & Cellarhand at Nyetimber. Tim's first winemaking role was as a Vintage Cellarhand at McWilliam's Wines in 2011. Tim then became a Contract Winemaker at Reh Kendermann GmbH Weinkellerei in 2012, overseeing the winemaking for the largest vintage site. In 2014, Tim had a consultant winemaking position as a Vintage Winemaker at Mumm Napa. Since 2013, they have been with Pernod Ricard Winemakers, where they have held various roles, including Assistant Winemaker, White Winemaker, and White, Sparkling & Red Winemaker. Currently, they are the Chief Winemaker for Orlando Wines, responsible for the production of predominantly white wine.
Tim Pelquest-Hunt completed a Graduate Diploma of Viticulture & Oenology at Lincoln University (NZ) from 2009 to 2010. Tim also pursued an Advanced Wine Assessment Course at The Australian Wine Research Institute from an unspecified start year and completed it in 2016. Tim has a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Performance - Classical Singing and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Advanced Japanese Studies from UNSW, completed from 2003 to 2008. Tim obtained a Diploma of Project Management from TAFE SA in an unspecified start year and finished it in 2015. Additionally, Tim completed Classical Tenor Vocal Studies at the Australian Music Examinations Board, earning an LMusA in 2008 and an AMusA in 2007. Tim is currently a Len Evans Tutorial Scholar, with no specified degree or field of study, projected to finish in 2022.
