Teresa Phiri has a wealth of work experience. In 2007, they started as an Assistant Coordinator for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In 2010, they became a Research Assistant for the Earth Institute Center for Environmental Sustainability and a Research Assistant for the Sarah Lawrence College Department of Economics. In 2012, they were an International Sales Representative for Global Water Intelligence and a Policy Advocate for World Information Transfer. In 2014, they were a Project Associate for Healthcare Venture and a Research Analyst for Citi. In 2016, they became a Volunteer for Volunteer Network. Since 2018, they have been an Executive Research for Perrett Laver, working to identify global leaders for leadership positions in non-profit organizations.
Teresa Phiri received their high school education from Waterford Kamhlaba, United World College of Southern Africa, graduating in 2008 with an International Baccalaureate. Teresa then attended Sarah Lawrence College from 2009 to 2013, earning a BA in Political Economy. Finally, Teresa earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford in 2015.
