Katerina Eva Matsa is a Director, News and Information Research at Pew Research Center. She is an expert on journalism and media, specifically the U.S. broadcasting sector, news consumption and politics and the role of technology in news. Matsa is the author of studies on local news, network and local television, news consumption, and political polarization and media habits. Matsa did graduate work in the communications doctoral program at American University, and has an M.Sc. in politics and government in the European Union from the London School of Economics, an M.A. in communication from Georgetown University, and a B.A. degree in political science from Panteion University in Athens, Greece. Matsa is fluent in English and Greek, and regularly discusses her research in print and broadcast media.
