Jackson Fernandez

Jackson Fernandez is an accomplished medical and engineering professional currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society in 2021, Jackson has diverse experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant and Medical Scribe at Luxe Aesthetics, where responsibilities included patient intakes and documentation. A former Research Assistant in Dr. Imran Rizvi's lab, Jackson contributed to biomedical research and developed 3D analysis techniques for ovarian cancer imaging. Leadership roles include President of the UNC Biomedical Devices Club and a Teaching Assistant for Bioinstrumentation courses. Educational background includes dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University, in addition to previous studies at Case Western Reserve University and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
