Drive your passion for innovation and contribute to the green energy revolution in a fast-paced environment!    In this hands-on role, you will contribute directly to maximizing our metal recovery yield. You will work closely with senior engineers and operations personnel to troubleshoot process challenges, analyze data, and implement data-driven improvements to our digestion and separation systems. You'll ensure consistent product quality, minimize waste generation, and prioritize process safety. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize metal-bearing concentrate digestion and separation processes, applying advanced chemical knowledge to achieve superior results.
  • Leverage expertise in chemical reactions, thermodynamics, and mass/heat transfer to analyze process data, identify areas for improvement in yield, efficiency, and waste minimization.
  • Develop and implement control procedures to ensure consistent product quality, optimal metal recovery rates, and adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operations personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues, resolve process upsets, and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct laboratory research and participate in pilot studies to evaluate the effectiveness of new technologies and process modifications for metal extraction.
  • Author and maintainaccurate and up-to-date process documentation, including flowsheets, operating procedures, and technical reports.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive safety procedures for the laboratory and pilot plant, prioritizing safety in all aspects of research.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, fostering a strong safety culture within the research team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (or a closely related field) with a focus on inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, or materials science.
  • PhD. Preferred
  • Experience in conducting research on metal extraction processes, including leaching, precipitation, and other relevant techniques (highly preferred).
  • Strong foundation in chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass/heat transfer principles.
  • Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and techniques for characterizing metals and metal-bearing materials.
  • Experience with chemical process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to research.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document research findings clearly and concisely.
