Vice President, Policy & Research at PhRMA

Scott W. has a diverse work experience in policy and research. Scott is currently serving as the Vice President of Policy & Research at PhRMA since August 2020. Prior to this, they worked at the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) starting in 2015. During their time at PCMA, they held various roles including Assistant Vice President of State Affairs, Senior Director of State Affairs, and Senior Director of Policy. In these roles, they advocated on issues related to pharmacy benefit managers, pharmacy benefits, and prescription drug pricing before state legislative and regulatory bodies. Scott also managed outside consultants and contract lobbyists. Before joining PCMA, they worked as a Senior Policy Manager at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association from 2011 to 2015. Scott also gained experience as an Education Law & Policy Summer Fellow at the Tennessee State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) in 2010 and as a Legal Intern at the Boston Medical Center in 2009. Scott began their career as an Associate at Avalere Health from 2006 to 2008.

Scott W. completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Yale University in 2006. Scott then pursued a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, graduating in 2011. Currently, they are enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, pursuing a Master of Science in Education degree with a focus on School and Mental Health Counseling.
