Mary Walshe

Mary Walshe has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Mary currently serves as a Non-Executive Director/Trustee for ALONE since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Director for Mary Walshe Consultancy starting in April 2019. Mary has also served as a Non-Executive Director for Pieta House since September 2020. Before their consultancy role, Mary worked with HSE as the Head of Social Care from December 2016. Prior to that, they held the position of Area Manager for the Health Service Executive starting in September 2014. Mary also served as the Chief Officer (Interim) for HSE from July 2017 to March 2019, where they were responsible for primary, mental health, and social care services. Earlier in their career, Mary worked at Connolly Hospital, first as a Director of Nursing from May 2004 to May 2010, and later as a Hospital Manager from May 2010 to August 2014. Mary Walshe's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Presentation Convent Secondary School Bagenalstown, which they obtained from 1975 to 1980. Mary then pursued a BSc in Nursing Science at Dublin City University, RCSI, from 1997 to 1998. Following that, they earned a Master's Degree in quality risk and patient safety from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) between 2007 and 2008. Lastly, Mary completed a Diploma in Coaching for Performance at Dublin Business School, graduating in 2018.
