The Traffic Team is responsible for building the scheduling platform for all of traffic at Plaid as well as building the optimization models. The team primarily develops new capabilities in the traffic platform as well as training, experimenting and deploying ML models for optimized extraction. The goal is to achieve efficiency and data freshness.

Responsibilities

  • Working on large-scale scheduling problems
  • People management of engineers - including career growth, performance management, promotions and feedback
  • Potentially managing two backend and infra teams
  • Building high-performing teams - enabling and empowering your current direct reports paired with recruiting great new talent
  • Creating long-term roadmaps and executing against them
  • Setting team strategy in partnership with product management counterparts & managing execution (eg planning, sprints, etc.)
  • Coordinating with relevant platform-level teams, to deliver on objectives and create longer term strategies

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience with significant experience as a software engineer
  • Good technical sense with specific experience working on scalability issues
  • Product sense and understanding of customer needs
  • Experience owning a production product and working with a product manager and/or business partners to drive business impact
  • Passion for fostering functioning teams and organizations
  • A record of enhancing your reports and providing individuals with meaningful opportunities for growth
  • Excitement for recruiting and a thoughtful approach to headcount planning
