C.K. W. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career in 2017 as a Quantum Computing researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked on modeling Shor's algorithm and studying its applications to cryptography. In 2018, they interned as a Biomechanics Intern at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, focusing on the development of an experimental ultrasonic knife technique.
From 2018 to 2019, C.K. W. worked as a SURF Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Advanced Structures Laboratory and Optogenetics laboratory, respectively. During this time, they specialized in sensor development for smart water filtration systems and worked on a 3D imaging model tracking photon scattering patterns in brain tissue.
In 2019, C.K. W. joined Rockwell Automation as a Software Engineer, where they managed software development projects, developed and maintained CI test infrastructure pipelines, and utilized DevOps tools such as Chef. They continued in this role until 2021.
In 2020, C.K. W. became a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at UWM - College of Engineering & Applied Science. They worked on EMI and Microgrids research and also served as a Teaching Assistant for the Electromagnetic Fields course.
C.K. W. then embarked on a series of roles at the FHL Vive Center for Enhanced Reality, starting in 2021. They worked as an Autonomous Robotics Engineering Researcher, participating in collaborative projects with UC Berkeley's Robot Autonomous Racing program. They also took on the role of Technical Project Manager and initiated the AI Racing Tech multi-university research collaboration. Additionally, at the center, they gained familiarity with Python, CARLA Simulator, ROS2, and Fusion360.
In 2021, C.K. W. also joined the AI Racing Tech Team as a Technical Project Manager and Logistics Lead, before transitioning to a Software Engineer role. In this role, they contributed to the development of a real-time computer vision perception system for autonomous vehicles and assisted in implementing a Model Predictive Controller for an autonomous racing vehicle.
Most recently, C.K. W. has worked at Plainspoken Digital as an Automotive Data Scientist, and is currently employed at AVA Mobility as a Senior Autonomous Systems Engineer.
C.K. W. began their education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015, where they pursued a pre-engineering program. After completing their pre-engineering studies, C.K. W. transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2017 to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE) with a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. C.K. W. attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee until 2021. Subsequently, in 2021, C.K. W. enrolled in the University of California, Berkeley, to pursue a Master's degree in Engineering (MEng) with a concentration in Robotics and Controls. The field of study for this program was Robotics and Controls. In addition to their formal education, C.K. W. has also obtained several certifications including CPR & AED certification from the American Red Cross, a Certified Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Firefighter II certification from Madison Area Technical College, a Jump Start Program certification from App Academy, a Level E Coaching License from the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association, and an Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
